On behalf of the National Free Zones Council, we invite you to consider the advantages of choosing our country as a destination for your investment in the Caribbean. We would like to know your needs and how can we help you realize your goals of investing in Free Zones at the Dominican Republic.

Although it has
declined dramatically since the 1960s, agriculture remains an important
factor in the economy of the Dominican Republic, accounting for an
estimated 7.6 percent of the GDP in 2011. Sugar continues to occupy an
important role in the country's agricultural production and exports,
but output has fallen considerably since the 1980s, and there are many
other crops grown, including food for local consumption and
non-traditional exports such as pineapples and exotic fruits destined
for Europe and the United States. More>>
Telecommunications
has been one of the most dynamic sectors of the Dominican economy. The
general communication law has modernized the telecommunication
industry, adapting it to the parameters established by
international organizations such as the world trade Organization (WTO)
and the International Union for Telecommunications (UIT). Dominican law
regulates the installation, maintenance, and operation of web sites,
the rendering of services, and the supply of telecommunication
equipment to guarantee that telecommunication services are accessible
to the whole population, to promote free competition, and to promote
the development of this industry.
The
Dominican Institute of Telecommunication (INDOTEL), which began
operating in 1999, seeks to ensure the application of the law and the
organization and promotion of the telecommunication market.
Dominican Republic also establishes the legal and technical framework for the regulation of both AM and FM broadcasting.
